Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum
Located within Old Town Key West, the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum offers guests the opportunity to step back in time and view the home of one of America’s most treasured authors. This Nobel Prize winner lived and wrote in this home and on these gardens for more than ten years. Open 365 days a year from 9:00am - 5:00pm, your tour guide will educate you with narratives and answer any questions you may have. In the house, you will be able to see the furniture that Ernest Hemingway and his family used. In fact, in his son’s room, their are photos from all the various stages of Ernest Hemingway’s life as well as first editions of his books! A real treat! Not to mention the beautiful lush gardens and the numerous cats (over 60 - many of them with extra toes). Ernest Hemingway was given a six-toed cat by a ship’s captain and to this day, some of the cats on the grounds are descendants of his actual cat.
